We built this as a CIC because the legal structure forces the thing to stay honest. No founder distributions. No investor pressure. The asset lock means that even if we fold, nothing goes back to us — it transfers to another community organisation. That's not a policy position. It's the law we've bound ourselves to.

Editorial independence isn't a paragraph in our values doc. Nobody who funds a project gets a say over what ends up in it. That's the deal, for everyone, no exceptions.
